Aims and Objectives of Mayo Golf Society Dublin,
The aims and objectives of the Mayo Golf Society Dublin, are to promote the interests of its members in golf, by arranging a number of golf outings, throughout each calendar year and to enjoy a social get together with fellow Mayo people.
Membership of the Mayo Golf Society is confined to people (a) born in Mayo. (b) of Mayo parents or grandparents and (c) married/partner to either (a) or (b) above.
A membership fee will apply each year to maintain membership of the society.
The Membership fee will be agreed upon annually at the Society AGM, which will be held each year immediately after participation in the final outing of the year.
To conform strictly to the rules of Golf, the constitution and bye laws of the Golfing Union of Ireland and to observe and adhere to the ethics associated with the game of golf.
To provide a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Society and be conscious of their Mayo heritage and patronage.
Competitions and prizes are open to both male and female members. Due to the fact that at present the membership consists of many more male golfers than female, the Societies policy is that in the event of five or more female golfers playing a best ladies prize will be added irrespective of a lady getting into the top six scores/prizes.
A strict timesheet will be in operation for each outing and will be open to accept names 2/3 weeks prior to each outing. The Society officers will oversee and encourage its members to adhere to its timesheet policy. This will allow for the smooth running of all outings and will offer better time management to all participating members.
The Mayo Golf Society Dublin welcome and encourage Mayo people, who play golf to become members, invite guests and participate and enjoy the competition and social aspect of golf four or five times every year in and around the Dublin area.
